Preparation
Rituals & Vidhi
Sarva Pitru Tarpan
Offer water and black sesame facing South for all ancestors.
Mantra: Om Sarva Pitru Devatabhyo Namah.
Panchabali & Anna Daan
Feed crows, cows, dogs, and provide food and charity to the needy.
Welcoming Devi Durga
Listen to Chandipath at dawn and light lamps at dusk.
Fasting
Observe fast until Tarpan and feeding of animals is complete in the afternoon.
Family Guidance
Pray together as a family for the peace and blessings of all ancestors.
