Chapter 12, Verse 6 · Total Surrender
ये तु सर्वाणि कर्माणि मयि सन्न्यस्य मत्पराः ।अनन्येनैव योगेन मां ध्यायन्त उपासते ॥
Ye tu sarvāṇi karmāṇi mayi sannyasya mat-parāḥAnanyenaiva yogena māṃ dhyāyanta upāsate
Those who surrender all actions to Me, intent on Me alone, worship Me with undivided devotion, meditating on My form.
Chapter 12, Verse 13 · Who is Dear to God
अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्रः करुण एव च ।निर्ममो निरहंकारः समदुःखसुखः क्षमी ॥
Adveṣṭā sarva-bhūtānāṃ maitraḥ karuṇa eva caNirmamo nirahaṃkāraḥ sama-duḥkha-sukhaḥ kṣamī
He who hates no creature, who is friendly and compassionate to all, who is free from possessiveness and ego, who is equal in pleasure and pain, and forgiving — is dear to Me.
Chapter 12, Verse 2 · Personal Devotion is Supreme
श्रीभगवानुवाच ।मय्यावेश्य मनो ये मां नित्ययुक्ता उपासते ।श्रद्धया परयोपेतास्ते मे युक्ततमा मताः ॥
Śrī Bhagavān uvācaMayy āveśya mano ye māṃ nitya-yuktā upāsateŚraddhayā parayopetās te me yuktatamā matāḥ
Those who fix their minds on My personal form and who worship Me with great and transcendental faith are considered by Me to be most perfect.
Chapter 12, Verse 9 · Practice if You Cannot Fix the Mind
अथ चित्तं समाधातुं न शक्नोषि मयि स्थिरम् ।अभ्यासयोगेन ततो मामिच्छाप्तुं धनञ्जय ॥
Atha cittaṃ samādhātuṃ na śaknoṣi mayi sthiramAbhyāsa-yogena tato mām icchāptuṃ dhanañjaya
If you cannot fix your mind steadily on Me, then follow the practice of yoga — by this you can reach Me.
Chapter 12, Verse 10 · Work for God if You Cannot Meditate
अभ्यासेऽप्यसमर्थोऽसि मत्कर्मपरमो भव ।मदर्थमपि कर्माणि कुर्वन्सिद्धिमवाप्स्यसि ॥
Abhyāse'py asamartho'si mat-karma-paramo bhavaMad-artham api karmāṇi kurvan siddhim avāpsyasi
If you are unable to practise yoga, then just try to work for Me — for by performing actions for My sake you shall achieve perfection.
Chapter 12, Verse 15 · Living Without Disturbance
यस्मान्नोद्विजते लोको लोकान्नोद्विजते च यः ।हर्षामर्षभयोद्वेगैर्मुक्तो यः स च मे प्रियः ॥
Yasmān nodvijate loko lokān nodvijate ca yaḥHarṣāmarṣa-bhayodvegair mukto yaḥ sa ca me priyaḥ
One who does not disturb the happiness of the world and who is not disturbed by the anxiety of others, who is free from joy, envy, fear and anxiety — is very dear to Me.
Chapter 12, Verse 20 · The Dearest to God
ये तु धर्म्यामृतमिदं यथोक्तं पर्युपासते ।श्रद्दधाना मत्परमा भक्तास्तेऽतीव मे प्रियाः ॥
Ye tu dharmyāmṛtam idaṃ yathoktaṃ paryupāsateŚraddadhānā mat-paramā bhaktās te'tīva me priyāḥ
Those who follow this imperishable path of devotional service and who completely engage with faith, with Me as their supreme goal — they are exceedingly dear to Me.
