Chapter 13, Verse 2 · Body and Soul
क्षेत्रज्ञं चापि मां विद्धि सर्वक्षेत्रेषु भारत ।क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम ॥
Kṣetrajñaṃ cāpi māṃ viddhi sarva-kṣetreṣu BhārataKṣetra-kṣetrajñayor jñānaṃ yat taj jñānaṃ mataṃ mama
Know that I am also the knower in all bodies, O Arjuna. Understanding the difference between the body and the knower — that is what I consider true knowledge.
Chapter 13, Verse 22 · Soul in Nature
पुरुषः प्रकृतिस्थो हि भुङ्क्ते प्रकृतिजान्गुणान् ।कारणं गुणसङ्गोऽस्य सदसद्योनिजन्मसु ॥
Puruṣaḥ prakṛti-stho hi bhuṅkte prakṛti-jān guṇānKāraṇaṃ guṇa-saṅgo'sya sad-asad-yoni-janmasu
The soul, situated in nature, experiences the modes of nature. The soul's association with these modes is the cause of its birth in good and evil wombs.
Chapter 13, Verse 8 · Virtues That Lead to Knowledge
अमानित्वमदम्भित्वमहिंसा क्षान्तिरार्जवम् ।आचार्योपासनं शौचं स्थैर्यमात्मविनिग्रहः ॥
Amānitvam adambhitvam ahiṃsā kṣāntir ārjavamĀcāryopāsanaṃ śaucaṃ sthairyam ātma-vinigrahaḥ
Humility, modesty, non-violence, forbearance, simplicity, approaching a genuine teacher, cleanliness, steadiness, self-control.
Chapter 13, Verse 14 · God Pervades All
सर्वतः पाणिपादं तत्सर्वतोऽक्षिशिरोमुखम् ।सर्वतः श्रुतिमल्लोके सर्वमावृत्य तिष्ठति ॥
Sarvataḥ pāṇi-pādaṃ tat sarvato'kṣi-śiro-mukhamSarvataḥ śrutimal loke sarvam āvṛtya tiṣṭhati
Everywhere are His hands and legs, His eyes and faces, and He hears everything. In this way the Supersoul exists, pervading everything.
Chapter 13, Verse 27 · True Vision
समं सर्वेषु भूतेषु तिष्ठन्तं परमेश्वरम् ।विनश्यत्स्वविनश्यन्तं यः पश्यति स पश्यति ॥
Samaṃ sarveṣu bhūteṣu tiṣṭhantaṃ parameśvaramVinaśyatsv avinaśyantaṃ yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati
One who sees the Supreme Lord equally present in all beings, and who sees the imperishable within the perishable — that person truly sees.
