Chapter 15, Verse 7 · Soul as Fragment of God
Mamaivāṃśo jīva-loke jīva-bhūtaḥ sanātanaḥManaḥ-ṣaṣṭhānīndriyāṇi prakṛti-sthāni karṣati
The living beings in this world are an eternal fragment of Myself. They are struggling with the six senses — including the mind — which are rooted in nature.
Chapter 15, Verse 15 · God Within Every Heart
Sarvasya cāhaṃ hṛdi sanniviṣṭomattaḥ smṛtir jñānam apohanaṃ caVedaiś ca sarvair aham eva vedyovedānta-kṛd veda-vid eva cāham
I am seated in everyone's heart. From Me comes memory, knowledge and forgetfulness. I alone am to be known by all the Vedas — I am the author of Vedanta and the knower of the Vedas.
Chapter 15, Verse 1 · The Imperishable Ashwattha Tree
Śrī Bhagavān uvācaŪrdhva-mūlam adhaḥ-śākham aśvatthaṃ prāhur avyayamChandāṃsi yasya parṇāni yas taṃ veda sa veda-vit
The Supreme Lord said: There is a banyan tree which has its roots upward and its branches below, and the Vedic hymns are its leaves. One who knows this tree is the knower of the Vedas.
Chapter 15, Verse 6 · The Supreme Abode
Na tad bhāsayate sūryo na śaśāṅko na pāvakaḥYad gatvā na nivartante tad dhāma paramaṃ mama
That supreme abode of Mine is not illumined by the sun or moon, nor by fire. Those who reach it never return to this material world — that is My supreme dwelling.
Chapter 15, Verse 11 · Only the Disciplined See the Self
Yatanto yoginaś cainaṃ paśyanty ātmany avasthitamYatanto'py akṛtātmāno nainaṃ paśyanty acetasaḥ
The striving yogis can see the Self within themselves. But those whose minds are not disciplined — though striving, they cannot see the Self.
