- On Friday morning, bathe early and wear clean, preferably yellow or orange clothes.
- Set up a picture or image of Santoshi Mata on a clean altar.
- Offer jaggery (gur) and roasted chickpeas (chane) as prasad — these are the sacred offerings for Santoshi Mata.
- Light a ghee lamp and incense, offer orange flowers and a coconut.
- Fast throughout the day — consume only fruits and milk.
- Read or listen to the Santoshi Mata Vrat Katha with devotion.
- On the day of udyapan (completion), feed eight boys with a full meal and offer them the prasad.
- Strictly avoid sour foods (imli, lemon, curd) on the fasting day as Santoshi Mata does not accept sour offerings.
