Vidhi — How to Observe
- Cleanse the altar area and decorate it with banana leaves, fresh flowers, and mango leaves.
- Place a picture or idol of Lord Satyanarayan on a saffron/yellow silk cloth over a raised platform.
- Begin the worship by invoking Lord Ganesha, followed by the Navagrahas and Lord Satyanarayan.
- Perform Abhishek using Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, sugar, and ghee).
- Offer yellow flowers, tulsi leaves, incense, and light a ghee diya.
- Prepare and offer the sacred Prasad made of roasted wheat flour, sugar, ghee, banana slices, and milk.
- Read or listen to the five chapters of the Satyanarayan Vrat Katha with absolute focus.
- Conclude by performing the Satyanarayan Aarti and distributing the prasad to everyone present.
