- Set up the altar with a Shiva Linga or image of Lord Shiva and Parvati.
- Perform Abhishek of the Shiva Linga with milk, honey, curd, water, and Gangajal.
- Offer white flowers, bel patra (bilva leaves), dhatura, and sandalwood paste.
- Light a ghee lamp and incense sticks and offer white sweets as prasad.
- Fast throughout the day — consume only fruits, milk, and water.
- Read or listen to the Solah Somvar Vrat Katha in the evening.
